The Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra just got beaten by a Chinese rival in a camera showdown that’s got everyone talking.
A Surprising Upset
When you see “Ultra” in a phone’s name, you expect serious camera chops. And with the Oppo Find X9 Ultra and Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra, you get just that. To find out which phone comes out on top, I took over 500 photos with both devices in various scenarios, from bright sunshine to low-light conditions.
Surprisingly, the Oppo Find X9 Ultra outperformed the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra in several scenarios, showcasing its impressive 50-megapixel primary camera and 32-megapixel front camera. But, despite the Oppo’s best efforts, the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra refused to be defeated.
A Balanced Performance
The Galaxy S26 Ultra’s camera may not have won every round, but it consistently delivered balanced performance across various conditions. In daylight shots, both phones produced stunning results with vibrant colors and sharp details. However, in low-light conditions, the Oppo Find X9 Ultra’s camera excelled, capturing clear and well-exposed images where the Samsung phone faltered.
portrait shots were a different story, though. The Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra’s camera handled bokeh (background blur) more convincingly than the Oppo Find X9 Ultra, resulting in more professional-looking portraits with a natural-looking blur effect.
What This Means
For those seeking a well-rounded camera experience without breaking the bank, the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra is a solid choice. It may not be the best in every category, but its balanced performance makes it an excellent all-rounder. However, if you’re a photography enthusiast looking for the absolute best camera phone, the Oppo Find X9 Ultra might just be worth considering – and its competitive price makes it an even more attractive option.
