Aaron Judge Impressed by Brewers’ Towering Prospect
MILWAUKEE – In a matchup of towering power, Yankees superstar Aaron Judge left Miller Park yesterday with high praise for the Brewers’ Jacob Misiorowski, a 6-foot-7 phenom who’s turning heads in the majors. Judge watched as Misiorowski faced off against the Yankees, showcasing a unique combination of raw velocity and control that left the big man more than a little impressed.
“You see some guys that throw 103,” Judge said, “but you get a little bit more time. A guy like that, where he can throw hard and still get a little bit of extra time, that’s a great, great, great young star.”
Misiorowski’s performance was all the more impressive considering he was facing off against one of the league’s premier hitters, Judge has been a thorn in the side for opposing pitchers all season, with a .286 batting average and 15 home runs in his last 30 games.
Despite the odds, Misiorowski held his own against Judge and the rest of the Yankees lineup, throwing 5.1 innings and surrendering just 3 runs on 7 hits. For a rookie, those are impressive stats, and Judge was effusive in his praise for the young lefty.
Misiorowski’s Rise to Prominence
Drafted by the Brewers in the 3rd round of the 2020 amateur draft, Misiorowski had a meteoric rise through the minors, earning a spot on the Brewers’ Opening Day roster this season. The 22-year-old lefty has quickly become a fan favorite in Milwaukee, and his matchup against Judge was a testament to his rapid growth and development as a pitcher.
A Judge of Character
For Judge, it’s not just about the numbers or the accolades – it’s about the intangibles that separate great pitchers from the rest. “The thing that impresses me most is his presence on the mound,” Judge said. “He’s got a calm, confident air about him that makes him tough to hit. And his stuff’s just electric – 103 mph is 103 mph, but he’s got the control to back it up.”
As the Yankees continue to make their push for the playoffs, Judge’s assessment of Misiorowski is a welcome vote of confidence for the young lefty, who’s poised to become a key cog in the Brewers’ rotation for years to come.
