Episode Recap
The episode also sees a robbery take place at the club, resulting in the manager getting shot. Rue ultimately realizes that Laurie is to blame for the incident. Elsewhere, Maddy, played by Alexa Demie, takes Cassie, played by Sydney Sweeney, under her wing, resulting in her gaining a large following on OnlyFans.
Season 3 Delays
The third season of Euphoria was originally set to air in 2025 but faced several obstacles, including creator Sam Levinson’s commitment to his short-lived series The Idol and the dual WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes that took place in late 2023.
Since season 2 concluded, the cast has faced a devastating loss with the death of Angus Cloud, who played Fezco, at the age of 25 in July 2023. The show is expected to address the fate of his character, and Eric Dane’s Cal will make an appearance in the trailer despite the actor’s passing in 2023.
Creator’s Tribute
In a speech at the season 3 premiere, Levinson paid tribute to the cast members who have passed away, including Angus Cloud. He explained that the show will pay tribute to Fezco on screen, with scenes showing characters talking to him on the phone. Levinson said, “I thought that if I couldn’t keep him alive in life, then maybe within this show that I can control, I can keep him alive there.”
Euphoria airs on HBO Sundays at 9 p.m. ET. With its shocking storylines and talented cast, the show continues to captivate audiences and spark important conversations about addiction, mental health, and trauma.
