DOJ Announces Indictment of Southern Poverty Law Center for Channeling Millions to Extremist Groups
The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) has announced a federal indictment of the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC), a radical leftist organization, over charges of channeling millions of dollars to people who are part of extremist groups, including white supremacist groups. The indictment, which was posted on X on April 21, alleges that the SPLC committed 11 counts of wire and bank fraud.
The SPLC has been accused of hypocrisy, as it has frequently hurled accusations of white supremacy and racism at conservatives, while secretly funneling funds to extremist groups. According to the indictment, the SPLC shelled out tens of thousands of dollars to multiple members of the Ku Klux Klan.
