**Police Drones Take to the Skies in Singapore’s Urban Areas**
Singapore’s Home Team has launched a unique ‘first of its kind’ police drone operation in highly urbanised areas, deploying eight sets of the Home Team SkyGuardian in industrial-maritime regions and southern islands.
The drones are equipped with advanced technology, allowing them to provide real-time surveillance and monitoring capabilities for police patrols. According to SPFs (Singapore Police Force), the drones are designed to enhance the security and safety of residents in these areas.
**AI-Powered Operations**
On top of the drone deployment, the SPFs have also showcased the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into their work processes. This move aims to improve the citizen experience and help officers navigate the complex security landscape.
“We’re excited to be using AI to make our operations more efficient and effective,” said **Assistant Commissioner of Police, Tan**. “By leveraging AI, we can enhance our capabilities and provide better services to the community.”
**What this means**
For residents in Singapore’s urban areas, this could mean faster response times and more effective policing. The integration of AI into police work processes also allows for more data-driven decision-making, which can lead to better resource allocation and improved public safety.
