Auckland’s HeartLab secures $2 million contract with Health New Zealand to pilot AI cardiology software.
Auckland-based HeartLab has clinched a significant contract with Advara, landing a major deal that will see its AI cardiology software integrated into the Australian medical equipment and diagnostics company’s operations. The partnership marks a major milestone for HeartLab’s technology, which is already being used to analyze over 500,000 patients’ heart health every year worldwide.
Private healthcare operators have been early adopters of HeartLab’s software, but last year’s $2 million pilot contract with Health New Zealand marked a significant breakthrough in bringing the technology into the public healthcare sector.
The contract involves the integration of HeartLab’s software into Health New Zealand’s Te Manawa Taki (Maori for ‘Heart Centre’), which is a cardiovascular assessment service designed to improve the early detection and management of cardiovascular disease. By leveraging AI-powered analysis, healthcare professionals will be able to make more accurate and timely diagnoses, ultimately improving patient outcomes and reducing healthcare costs.
What this means for patients is improved access to high-quality cardiovascular care. With AI-powered analysis, doctors will be able to identify potential health risks earlier on, allowing for more effective intervention and preventative care. This could lead to better health outcomes and potentially even saving lives.
