FAA worker in New Hampshire charged with threatening to kill Trump

FAA Worker Charged with Threatening to Kill Trump

A New Hampshire man, Dean DelleChiaie, 35, who works as a mechanical engineer for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), has been charged with threatening to kill President Donald Trump via email. DelleChiaie allegedly sent an email to the White House on April 21, stating: “I, Dean DelleChiaie, am going neutralize/kill you – Donald John Trump – because you decided to kill kids – and say that it was War – when in reality – it is terrorism. God knows your actions and where you belong.”

The FAA first alerted the Secret Service in January that DelleChiaie had used his work computer to search for ways to harm Trump, including how to get a gun into a federal facility and the phrase “I am going to kill Donald John Trump.” DelleChiaie is also alleged to have searched for the location of Vice President JD Vance’s and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth’s homes and the names and ages of their children.

Investigation and Arrest

After DelleChiaie asked the IT department at the FAA to clear his search history, the IT department alerted the FAA, which suspended him and passed the information along to the Secret Service. A Secret Service agent and a Nashua police officer interviewed DelleChiaie at his apartment in early February, during which he admitted conducting the searches and owning three firearms.

Charges and Trial

DelleChiaie is charged with “interstate communication of a threat” and faces up to five years in prison and a $250,000 fine if convicted. He has been ordered to be held without bail while he awaits trial and has requested representation from a public defender. The case is significant, coming weeks after Cole Tomas Allen was indicted on a new charge in connection with the April 25 shooting at the White House Correspondents’ Association dinner, where Trump was present.

The incident highlights the importance of monitoring and reporting suspicious activity, particularly in sensitive government agencies like the FAA. The Secret Service and law enforcement agencies take threats against the President and other government officials seriously, and this case demonstrates their commitment to protecting those in power.
