Greek business daily **Naftemporiki** has joined forces with China’s **Dazhong News Group** in a bid to boost media exchange between the two nations.
A delegation from China’s Shandong Province, famous for being the birthplace of Confucius, recently visited Naftemporiki’s offices in Athens. The move is part of a larger effort to strengthen cooperation between Greece and China’s media sectors. The Shandong Province delegation, led by Li Minghe, Governor of Shandong Province, was welcomed by Naftemporiki’s managing director, Giorgos Chrysochoidis.
Naftemporiki, a leading financial newspaper in Greece, hopes to collaborate with Dazhong News Group on content production, training programs, and even joint media projects. The partnership aims to increase cultural exchange and promote bilateral understanding between the two countries.
Media Cooperation: A Growing Trend
The agreement marks a significant step in the growing partnership between Greece and China in the media sector. Earlier this year, the Chinese media conglomerate Xinhua News Agency signed a cooperation agreement with the Greek News Agency (ANA-MPA). This trend reflects China’s increasing influence in global media and its efforts to build a strong international media presence.
What this means
This partnership may have significant implications for the Greek media landscape. Naftemporiki can leverage its expertise in financial journalism and its reputation in Greece to produce joint content with Dazhong News Group. This could lead to the production of high-quality content covering China’s economic and business sectors, which could be valuable to Greek and European audiences.
The collaboration may also pave the way for other joint initiatives, such as media training programs and exchange programs for journalists. This could further strengthen ties between the two countries and increase mutual understanding between Greece and China.
