“We have some of the best and brightest minds in AI research and development, but the implementation and adoption of these technologies on the farm are being hindered by systemic barriers,” said Dr. Sylvain Charlebois, Director of the Agri-Food Analytics Lab at Dalhousie University.

Dr. Charlebois points out that farmers in different regions face unique challenges, such as varying climate conditions, soil types, and market access. To address this, he recommends developing region-specific AI tools that take into account local conditions and farmer expertise.
