Constellation Energy, a US nuclear power company, has been working on upgrading its reactors to be more efficient, with some modifications expected to increase capacity by up to 15%. “It’s a game-changer for our business,” said Joe Dominguez, the company’s CEO.
Nuclear power has been largely off the grid since the 1980s due to high construction costs, public safety concerns, and economic uncertainty. However, AI’s insatiable appetite for energy could finally make nuclear power viable again.
Cleaning Up the Nuclear Act

Meta, which has pledged to become carbon neutral by 2030, is working on developing technology to make nuclear power even cleaner. “We believe that nuclear energy can play a critical role in reducing carbon emissions,” said Mark Zuckerberg, Meta’s CEO.

The deal between Microsoft and Exelon marks a significant turning point in the nuclear power industry. Other tech companies are also investing heavily in nuclear power, with Google and Amazon also signing deals with nuclear companies.
