Market Updates from Major Indian Cities
Retail prices in Delhi, Mumbai, and Kolkata also experienced a drop. Delhi saw a loss of ₹300 in 24K gold prices, which now stand at ₹43,700 per 10 grams, while Mumbai lost ₹250, bringing prices down to ₹43,450 per 10 grams. In Kolkata, the loss was ₹350, with 24K gold now priced at ₹43,350 per 10 grams.
Geopolitical Developments Weighing on Gold Prices
The ongoing tensions between the US and Iran are causing uncertainty in the global economy, leading to a decline in gold prices. “The escalating tensions between the US and Iran are creating a sense of unease among investors, causing them to flock to safe-haven assets like gold,” said Manoj Ajmera, a gold analyst.
What this means is that Indian gold buyers and investors need to stay informed about global economic developments and adjust their strategies accordingly. While gold prices might be fluctuating, experts predict that India’s gold market will continue to be driven by domestic demand and central bank policies.
In the meantime, silver prices in India’s retail market also experienced a decline, with 999 silver priced at ₹54,500 per kilogram, down from ₹55,300 the previous day. The MCX silver futures prices also saw a slight dip, closing at ₹44,200 per kilogram. As the situation unfolds, it’s essential for investors and buyers to stay up-to-date on market updates and adjust their portfolios accordingly.
