A New Approach to Weight Management
Ascletis is seeking approval for two novel injectable treatments, ASC36 and ASC36_35 FDC, which represent a fresh approach to managing obesity. The company’s peptide-based therapies target specific receptors in the body that play a crucial role in appetite regulation and glucose metabolism.
How It Works
ASC36 is a once-monthly injection that works by activating amylin receptors in the brain, which helps to suppress appetite and reduce food cravings. This receptor agonist has been shown to induce significant weight loss in clinical trials. ASC36_35 FDC, on the other hand, is a co-formulation of ASC36 and another peptide, ASC35, which is a dual agonist of GLP-1R and GIPR receptors. By targeting these receptors, ASC36_35 FDC aims to stimulate insulin secretion and improve glucose metabolism, further contributing to weight loss.
