CBSE Cuts Re-Evaluation Fees Amid Student Backlash
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has dramatically scaled back fees for answer sheet copies, verification, and re-evaluation of Class 12 board exams following widespread criticism of its new on-screen evaluation system.
New Fees and Application Timelines Revealed
CBSE officials announced a significant reduction in fees for re-evaluation services, making it more accessible to students. The reduced fees for answer sheet copies are now ₹300 (down from ₹600 previously) for each subject, and ₹500 for every 100 marks (previously ₹1,000). Verification of marks will now cost ₹200 per subject.
Students Can Apply from May 25th
Students who are not satisfied with their board exam results can apply for re-evaluation from May 25th, with the application deadline set for June 5th. The results for re-evaluation will be made available on June 18th.
What this means: For thousands of Class 12 students, this reduction in re-evaluation fees is a welcome relief. The move addresses student concerns over the high costs associated with reviewing their answer sheets and seeks to make the process more equitable. By making re-evaluation more affordable, CBSE aims to boost transparency and build trust in its evaluation system.
