Asus has announced plans to take on the rising star of streaming peripherals with its own secondary touchscreen display: the compact 12.3-inch ROG Strix XG129C. This move comes as a response to the growing influence of Elgato’s Stream Deck and similar products.
The Competition Heats Up
The ROG Strix XG129C sits at 12.3 inches, slightly smaller than Corsair’s current offerings in the same category. Despite its compact size, the display promises to bring a robust set of features to the table.
Users can expect a 16:10 aspect ratio, 3840 x 2400 resolution, and 165Hz refresh rate, making it a solid option for gamers and content creators alike. The display also features a built-in microphone and a 12.3-inch touchscreen interface that can be controlled using the ROG Dashboard software.
A Second Product Ramps Up the Antics
In addition to the ROG Strix XG129C, Asus is also launching a 34-inch ROG Strix gaming monitor. This behemoth boasts an RGB Tandem QD-OLED 1440p display, promising a level of brightness and color accuracy that’s sure to impress.
The 34-inch monitor features a 3440 x 1440 resolution, a 165Hz refresh rate, and a 0.4ms response time. With HDMI 2.0 and DisplayPort 1.4 ports, users will have ample options for connecting their devices. Asus is also including a pair of 3W speakers, which should provide decent audio quality for casual use.
Asus Seeks to Make Its Mark
With these two new products, Asus is clearly aiming to challenge the dominance of Elgato and other streaming peripheral manufacturers. By offering a compact secondary display and a high-end gaming monitor, Asus hopes to appeal to a wide range of users, from gamers to content creators.
As the market for streaming hardware continues to grow, it’s clear that Asus won’t be left behind. With these new products, the company is positioning itself as a major player in the industry, and it’s exciting to see how it will shake things up in the months to come.
The ROG Strix XG129C and the 34-inch ROG Strix gaming monitor are expected to launch in the coming weeks, with pricing information yet to be announced.
