Delhi Police Issues Traffic Advisory for Smooth Conduct of Ceremonial Parade of 77th Republic Day
As India gears up to celebrate its 77th Republic Day, the Delhi Police has released a comprehensive traffic advisory aimed at facilitating the smooth conduct of the ceremonial parade and associated cultural events. The Republic Day celebration will follow its iconic route from Vijay Chowk to the Red Fort, with extensive traffic arrangements in place.
In light of the festivities, Delhi Police advises commuters to plan their journeys in advance, particularly avoiding Central Delhi during specified restricted hours. Residents have been informed about the route-restricted zones and the alternate routes that will be implemented ahead of Republic Day.
Beginning tonight, traffic restrictions will be enforced and will remain in place throughout the parade tomorrow. According to the advisory, Kartavya Path will experience a closure to all traffic from 10:00 PM tonight until the conclusion of the parade. Additionally, no crossings will be permitted on Kartavya Path between Vijay Chowk and India Gate from 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM tomorrow.
Moreover, the C-Hexagon near India Gate will shut down to traffic starting from 9:15 AM. Diversions will affect traffic on Tilak Marg, Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg, and Netaji Subhash Marg from 10:30 AM onward. Consequently, the Delhi Police strongly encourages commuters to steer clear of the parade route and surrounding areas, imposing limitations applicable to essential travel only.
To assist the public in attending the Republic Day celebration, Delhi Metro will initiate services at 3 AM tomorrow across all lines. Train services will operate at 15-minute intervals until 6 AM, transitioning to the standard schedule for the remainder of the day thereafter. Passengers are advised to plan their travels effectively and make use of the early metro services to ensure a seamless experience without last-minute stress.
