The ‘MLB 30/30 Seasons’ Quiz

Congratulations to nine-time MLB All-Star, three-time Gold Glover, two-time Silver Slugger, and 1999 American League Rookie of the Year Carlos Beltran on his election to the Pro Baseball Hall of Fame!

Beltran is part of the exclusive 20-season club, having played for the Royals, Astros, Mets, Giants, Cardinals, Yankees, and Rangers. In his rookie season of 1999, he hit an impressive .293 with 22 home runs, 108 RBIs, and 22 stolen bases in 156 games. Power at the plate and speed on the base paths defined Beltran’s game, notably in the first half of his career when he achieved at least 20 home runs and stole 20 bases in eight out of his first ten seasons.

In 2004, he joined the elite 30/30 club by smashing 38 home runs and swiping 42 bases. By the time he concluded his career in 2017 with a swan song for the Houston Astros, Beltran accumulated 2,725 hits, 1,587 RBIs, 435 home runs, and 312 stolen bases. Despite his on-field accomplishments, his legacy faced challenges due to his involvement in the controversial sign-stealing scandal with the Astros, which ended his tenure as manager for the New York Mets before he could even step on the field.
