Saylani Announces Ration Support for Affectees of Gul Plaza Fire
KARACHI: In a heartfelt response to the tragic fire at Gul Plaza, Saylani Welfare International Trust has launched immediate ration assistance for all 900 shopkeepers and their employees who were adversely affected by the incident. Alongside this, the Trust has committed to covering the complete educational expenses for the children of these employees.
The fire, which broke out at the prominent shopping centre located on M A Jinnah Road, has left many families in distress. In the wake of this event, Founder and Chairman of Saylani Welfare International Trust, Maulana Muhammad Bashir Farooq Qadri, held an emergency meeting where pivotal decisions were made to support those impacted.
During the meeting, the officials expressed their deep sorrow regarding the incident. Prayers were offered for the souls of those who lost their lives and for a speedy recovery for those who suffered injuries. Maulana Bashir reaffirmed Saylani’s commitment to standing alongside the affected shopkeepers, employees, and their families during this challenging period.
“Islam teaches us to support those in distress,” Maulana Bashir stated. He articulated that in this time of calamity, Saylani has decided to assume full responsibility for the educational costs of the children of all employees from the approximately 900 shops impacted by the fire. In addition to this, immediate ration assistance will be extended to all affected employees.
Furthermore, Maulana Bashir highlighted a pressing issue regarding safety measures, urging local government authorities to adopt modern firefighting technologies to avert such catastrophic losses in the future. He pointed out that many countries employ advanced fire suppression systems effectively to manage fire incidents, suggesting that Pakistan should also advance towards implementing such critical safety technologies.
