CERT-In uses AI ‘war room’, tests advanced models to strengthen cyber defence

**CERT-In’s AI ‘War Room’ Aims to Boost India’s Cyber Defences**

The Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) is leveraging artificial intelligence to enhance the country’s cyber security posture, with the launch of an AI-powered “war room” and the testing of advanced AI models.

MeitY secretary S Krishnan revealed that CERT-In is conducting dry-run exercises using alternative AI models that currently deliver around 60-70 per cent of Mythos’ capabilities to identify security gaps.

This strategic move is a significant step in bolstering India’s cyber defence capabilities, allowing CERT-In to better detect and respond to potential threats. The AI ‘war room’ is equipped with advanced AI models that will enable the team to analyze vast amounts of data, identify patterns, and predict potential security breaches.

**Advanced AI Models for Enhanced Security**

The AI models being tested are designed to improve the accuracy and efficiency of security threat detection, enabling CERT-In to respond more effectively to emerging threats. The dry-run exercises are a critical step in validating the performance of these models and ensuring they meet the team’s requirements.

By leveraging AI, CERT-In aims to strengthen its cyber defence capabilities and improve its ability to mitigate potential security threats. This strategic move demonstrates the government’s commitment to enhancing the country’s cyber security posture and protecting its citizens from the ever-evolving landscape of cyber threats.

**What this means**

The introduction of an AI-powered “war room” and the testing of advanced AI models marks a significant shift in India’s cyber security strategy. By leveraging AI, CERT-In can enhance its ability to detect and respond to security threats, ultimately contributing to a safer and more secure online environment for Indian citizens. As the cyber threat landscape continues to evolve, India’s reliance on AI-powered security solutions will be crucial in protecting its digital infrastructure.
