Zara Larsson recently joined forces with PinkPantheress for the remix of “Stateside,” and the collaboration has taken the music world by storm. Released in October 2025 as part of PinkPantheress’ project Fancy Some More?, the remix is now climbing the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart.

In an exclusive interview, the Swedish pop sensation expressed her excitement about teaming up with the rising star PinkPantheress. “I love her. She’s cute and incredibly talented,” Larsson exclaimed. “She’s unapologetically herself, which I adore.”

The opportunity to collaborate stemmed from Larsson reaching out to PinkPantheress via social media, offering a heartfelt message of admiration. “I DM’ed her two days before she asked me to jump on the remix, like, ‘Queen.’ That’s all I said,” she recalled with laughter.

After PinkPantheress responded in kind, Larsson couldn’t contain her enthusiasm. She described their interaction: “I was like, ‘Duh, I would love that.’ That’s how it all began.” The recording sessions took place during Larsson’s tour with Tate McRae, where she crafted her verse “somewhere in middle America.”

Despite her excitement about the project, Larsson faced a moment of anxiety upon the album’s release. She became concerned that she might not be included, especially after discovering that Kylie Minogue was also featured on a remix of “Stateside.” “I got really scared, like, ‘Oh my God, what if she hated it?’” she shared.

Luckily for Larsson, it turned out that PinkPantheress had invited multiple artists for remixes, making it a fun and collaborative journey. Larsson’s rendition stands out among four remixes, joining other interpretations from Minogue, Bladee, and Groove Armada.

With fans largely responding positively to her version of “Stateside,” Larsson expressed her delight in the track’s performance, noting its ascent to No. 83 on the Hot 100 and the music video’s near 10 million views in under 10 days.
